IS2 is committed to treating all individuals with disabilities or accessibility needs in a manner that respects their dignity and independence.
We believe in equal opportunity, integration, and inclusion, and are committed to ensuring that individuals with disabilities or accessibility requirements receive the same level of service as those who do not require assistance.
IS2 is committed to meeting the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner by:
- Removing barriers
- Providing accommodation and accessibility options
- Meeting accessibility requirements under Ontario’s accessibility laws
IS2 Accessibility Policy Statement
IS2 will meet the information and communication needs of people with disabilities by providing, upon request, accessible formats and communication supports.
Individuals requiring accommodation or accessibility assistance are responsible for informing IS2 of their specific needs.
If you require accommodation to improve accessibility or understanding of IS2 processes, documentation, or information, please contact your IS2 Representative or your local IS2 office.
IS2 Discrimination Policy
IS2 considers discrimination against an individual with a disability or accessibility requirement to be a form of workplace harassment.
Discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated and may result in disciplinary action.
Examples of disabilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Physical limitations
- Vision impairment
- Hearing limitations
- Learning disabilities
- Environmental sensitivities
- Mental health conditions
- Cognitive development disabilities
- Workplace injuries
IS2 Accessibility Operating Procedures
The following procedures apply to IS2 Staff interactions with IS2 Employees, Customers, members of the public, and any persons requiring accessibility assistance to receive goods or services from IS2.
Communicating with Persons with Disabilities
IS2 Staff will make every reasonable effort to communicate with persons with disabilities or accessibility requirements in a manner that accommodates their needs.
IS2 Staff will strive to ensure all individuals can equally access, review, and understand documents and information.
For example, if a person has a vision impairment, IS2 Staff may provide information in an alternate format such as:
- Larger print
- Verbal or oral explanations
- Other accessible communication methods
- Providing Goods and Services
IS2 will strive to ensure goods and services are provided:
- In a way that respects the dignity and independence of individuals
- In a manner that gives persons with disabilities equal opportunity to receive the same level of service as others
Assistive Devices
Persons with disabilities may use their own assistive devices while accessing services from IS2.
IS2 may also provide assistive or accessibility options to ensure equal access to services.
Individuals requiring assistive devices are responsible for:
- Informing IS2 of their accommodation needs
- Ensuring assistive devices are operated safely
Service Animals
Persons with disabilities who require service animals are welcome to enter IS2 offices accompanied by their service animal while receiving goods and services.
If it is not readily apparent that the animal is a service animal, IS2 Staff may request confirmation from a medical professional (such as a physician or nurse) verifying that the service animal is required due to the individual’s disability.
Support Persons
Persons with disabilities who require a support person may enter IS2 offices accompanied by their support person while receiving goods and services.
Temporary Disruptions in Services or Facilities
Temporary disruptions to services or facilities may occur and may not always be within IS2’s immediate control.
IS2 Staff will make reasonable efforts to notify individuals requiring accessibility assistance of any unplanned disruptions that may affect their ability to receive the same level of customer service.
Training Policy
IS2 will ensure all IS2 Staff and all individuals covered under this policy receive accessibility training and awareness education in accordance with Ontario Regulation 429/07.
Training will be tailored to the individual’s role within the organization.
Training for All Persons
(IS2 Staff, Temporary Employees, Customers, Applicants, and Members of the Public)
Training includes:
- A review of the purpose of the AODA
- IS2’s anti-discrimination policy
- Available accessibility options
- Reference to IS2’s Accessibility Policy and Accessibility Plan
These materials will be posted in each office and made available on the IS2 website.
Additional Training for IS2 Staff
IS2 Staff training will also include:
- Requirements of accessibility standards for customer service
- How to communicate and interact with persons with different disabilities or accessibility requirements
- How to request assistance when needed
- Methods for providing documents and information in alternate or accessible formats
- Information on how to obtain additional support to ensure accessibility needs are met
All IS2 Staff and Employees are required to sign documentation confirming they have reviewed, understood, and will comply with IS2’s AODA policies.

Anyone with questions regarding AODA, accessibility, or IS2’s commitment to anti-discrimination and accessibility may contact IS2’s Health & Safety Manager.
IS2 will make every effort to investigate complaints in a timely manner.

As part of the IS2 Accessibility Plan, IS2 Staff will ensure that standards outlined in the Accessibility Policy and Discrimination Policy are consistently followed.
Training and Awareness
Training will be provided in accordance with the IS2 Accessibility Plan requirements.
Customers, applicants, and members of the public will receive information regarding accessibility procedures and references to the full accessibility policies.
IS2 Staff will receive additional training on ensuring accessibility options are available and properly implemented.
Information, Communication, and Compliance Plan
IS2 will ensure that all website content and new websites conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, Level AA requirements.
IS2 will also ensure that accessibility and feedback options are available to individuals with disabilities.
The IS2 Accessibility Policy will be posted on internal and external websites and made publicly available according to the following timeline:
January 1, 2016
- Accessibility information made available upon request
- Identification of current and requested accessibility options
- Assessment of additional accessibility requirements
- Publication of IS2’s AODA commitment, policy, and plan on the IS2 website
- Communication of expectations and protocols to Senior and Corporate Managers
- Assignment of a Corporate Manager responsible for audits, compliance reporting, and follow-up reviews
January 1, 2017
IS2 ensured that all new or redeveloped public spaces complied with accessibility requirements under applicable legislation.
December 31, 2017
IS2 filed an Accessibility Compliance Report.
December 31, 2020
IS2 filed an Accessibility Compliance Report.
January 1, 2021
IS2 reviewed all accessibility and compliance policies to ensure:
- All websites and web content met WCAG 2.0 Level AA standards
- All persons received proper accessibility training
- Accessibility feedback and issues were addressed to improve ongoing compliance
- Accessibility policies and procedures were reviewed to identify and remove additional barriers
December 31, 2023
