IS2 seeking several experienced Solder (also known as a Surface Mount Technician or Electronic Mechanic), to join our team in Calgary. This role involves precise soldering on small-scale printed circuit boards (PCBs), particularly for components smaller than a quarter of the size of a dime. Pay Rate: $18.00 – $21.00 per hour
Working Hours: Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

What you’ll be doing:
- Perform high-precision soldering on small-scale PCBs, ensuring accuracy while maintaining efficiency during repetitive tasks.
- Inspect soldered connections to ensure they meet IPC-610 Class 2 standards for electronics assembly.
- Use magnification tools (microscopes, magnifying glasses) for detailed inspection and soldering, ensuring the precision and quality of connections.
- Operate and maintain SMT machines, including Stencil Printers, Solder Paste Inspection, Pick & Place machines, Reflow Ovens, and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems.
- Understand and process various electronics packages, such as 0402, 0603, and BGA, within an SMT line.
What you’ll need to qualify:
- 2+ years of recent experience in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) required
- Proficient in SMT processes and the assembly of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBs)
- Hands-on experience soldering surface-mount devices (SMDs) and working with fine-pitch components on small-scale PCB boards
- Ability to read and follow drawings and work instructions for PCB assembly
- Good Vision/Use of Tools: Strong vision for detail or proven experience using magnification tools (e.g., microscopes, magnifying glasses) for precise soldering
- Must meet eligibility requirements to work in Canada
- Reliable transportation (public transit is accessible to this site)
